  • What is REP's teaching philosophy?
"O le uta o le poto o le fetāla’i, a o le uta a le vale e taofi mau” (Samoan alagaupu) - Wisdom is sharing knowledge; foolishness is withholding knowledge for himself. REP will make Pacific-based university-level courses affordable and accessible to all communities.
  • What course topics will be offered by REP?
Pacific History and Studies, Culture/Heritage, Christian Missions, Cold War, Colonialism, Development Studies, Environment, Geo-Politics, Governance, History, Migration, Post WW2, Protest and Resistance Studies, Religion, and Samoan history. Course topics will vary based on public interest.
  • Who should enroll?
There are no prerequisites for any of the REP courses. You just need a willingness to learn and a good attitude. Most of the courses will be introductory. If you know absolutely nothing about the region, need a refresher course, planning to travel and want to know more about island histories, a university student working on a literature review, a corporation interested in diversity training around Pacific Islander communities, theological students, or a professor that need your students to know a little more about the region to inform the context of your course, please join us! Everyone is invited to enroll.
  • How do I enroll?
Go to Services Offered > Education: Courses for more information. There are 3 quarters in the REP year (March to May; June to August; Sept to November). Check out our schedule for new courses!
  • What type of consultancy research services does REP offer?
REP can assist academics, government ministries, independent scholars, international organizations, universities, and consultants interested in academic research assistance related to the Pacific region. For more information, go to Services Offered.
  • Why are you charging for REP courses?
REP is exploring a business model that is focused on sharing knowledge that is usually only accessible to university students. The tuition fee includes training costs (e.g. materials, training modules, instructor fee, etc.) and are priced competitively. Fees may fluctuate over time based on feedback and demand. Does REP teach courses for schools, volunteer services, companies, and academics? Yes, REP can prepare specialized in-person or remote lectures for any groups. Contact us for more information.
  • Are REP courses accredited or transferable?
Currently, REP is working with relevant qualifications entities to obtain an accredited certification. All participants will receive a certificate of completion.
  • What are REP's organizational goals?
REP plans to apply for projects/grants that support Pacific based research in the areas of migration, environment, religion, governance, development, and other related fields. We hope to publish and provide research data on this forum in the future. Please check our site regularly for updates, new material, and informative courses for you, your friends, and colleagues
